Media personality, Rufai Oseni, says should Rivers State House of Assembly successfully impeaches governor Siminalayi Fubara, it would mean that President Bola Tinubu cannot protect APC governors.
Members of the Rivers House of Assembly loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, have begun impeachment proceedings against Fubara.

The lawmakers maintain that the impeachment proceedings is not borne out of the political crisis between Fubara and his political godfather, Wike, but based on the fact that the governor has committed some infractions which includes spending unbudgeted state funds and lack of regard for the legislature.
In a post shared on X on Tuesday, Rufai argued that if the impeachment proceedings against Fubara scales through, it would be an indictment against Tinubu.
“If Fubara is impeached, then it’s a big indictment on President Tinubu’s ability to protect APC governors,” he wrote.

“Also, for those government officials that say the state of emergency was to save Fubara, that argument has been nullified by this impeachment notice!
“Despite the state of emergency, no peace and settlement, President Tinubu’s state of emergency didn’t save Fubara because an impeachment is still going ahead.
“One thing is certain currently: Wike is leading in this fight.
“Wike 100, President Tinubu 50.
“Will President Tinubu be able to save Fubara from Wike?
“Will President Tinubu side with Fubara?
“Will the Chief Judge go ahead with the process?
“Will the court order hold?
“Will Wike work against Tinubu and probably join the opposition?
“Time will tell.”
