Minister of Defence, Chris Musa, has directed the service chiefs to reshuffle military operations in the North-west and North-east.
Musa gave the directive on Wednesday at the Ministry of Defence, where he had summoned them to discuss security challenges in the affected geo-political zones.
According to TheCable, Timothy Antigha, Media Adviser to the Minister, the service chiefs are expected to report their findings after their visit to the security-challenged geopolitical zones.
In recent weeks, there has been a spate of attacks by terrorists, with military bases often targeted and several personnel killed.
On Monday, fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) killed a commanding officer of the Nigerian Army during another assault on a military facility in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The next day, troops of the Nigerian Army repelled an early-morning attack by suspected ISWAP fighters on a military base in the same area.
About a week earlier, suspected fighters from Boko Haram and ISWAP attempted to attack military positions in Ngoshe, Gwoza LGA of Borno state.
The Nigerian Air Force said more than 50 of the suspected terrorists were killed in air strikes.
