Bayern Munich extended their remarkable winning streak to 16 consecutive matches with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, surviving a tense second half with ten men after Luis Diaz’s sending off.
The first half was a whirlwind of action. Luis Diaz struck twice to give Bayern a commanding 2-0 lead, showcasing his clinical finishing and sharp movement. PSG thought they had responded through Ousmane Dembele and Josip Stanisic, but both goals were ruled out for offside.
Serge Gnabry came agonizingly close to adding a third, hitting both posts in quick succession.
The drama escalated just before halftime when Diaz, having been the hero with his brace, turned villain by receiving a red card for a reckless foul on Achraf Hakimi. The dismissal shifted the momentum, forcing Bayern to adopt a more defensive posture for the remainder of the match.
In the second half, PSG pushed forward relentlessly. Their efforts paid off when Joao Neves pulled one back, injecting urgency into the closing stages. Despite the pressure, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern side held firm, displaying grit and tactical discipline to protect their lead and claim all three points.
