Atalanta director Tony D’Amico has said the club are ‘disappointed’ by the behaviour of Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman and will ‘make assessments’ when the summer transfer window comes to an end.
Providing a short update on the Lookman situation before their Serie A opener against Pisa, the Atlanta director
“Lookman is not training with the group, and we are experiencing more and more situations like this,” D’Amico told DAZN via TMW.
“We are sorry for everyone, but right now this is the situation. We’ll make assessments at the end of the transfer window. As of today, there’s disappointment.”
This means Atalanta will either decide to reintroduce the player to the team in September or leave him out of the squad for a longer period.
The Nigerian star has now been frozen out of the first team and will train separately at least for another week, missing the Serie A Round 2 as well.
The 27-year-old’s contract with Atalanta runs until June 2027.
