President Bola Tinubu is schedule to commence a three-state visit to Borno, Bauchi before terminating his trip in Lagos, where he would spend the Christmas holidays.
In a statement on Friday, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu’s first stop will be Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, where he will commission projects executed by the Babagana Zulum administration in collaboration with the federal government.
He said the president will also attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno.
From Maiduguri, the president will move to Bauchi to condole with the state government and the family of Dahiru Bauchi, the late Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who died on November 27.
After the condolence visit, Tinubu will leave for Lagos, where he will spend the upcoming Christmas and end-of-year holidays.
The president is expected to attend several engagements in the city, including serving as the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27.
Onanuga said the festival, which will be held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, will honour prominent figures, including Tinubu’s mother, Abibatu Mogaji, and two former governors — Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola.
