Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are in advanced talks to sign Genk striker Tolu Arokodare.
According to Belgian outlet HLN, Wolves are prepared to table €25million for the Nigeria international, who is expected to leave the Belgian Pro League before the end of the summer transfer window.
More so, Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the development in a post on X on Thursday.
“Wolves have started talks to sign Tolu Arokodare as new striker with deal underway on player/club side. Top scorer of Belgian Jupiler league last season now serious target for #WWFC,’ he wrote.
The 24-year-old, who finished as Belgium’s top scorer last season with 21 goals, has also attracted interest from Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli.
Wolves view Arokodare as the ideal replacement for Jørgen Strand-Larsen, who is close to sealing a move to Newcastle United. Genk have left the forward out of their squad for Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Lech Poznań to avoid any risks ahead of a potential transfer.
