2027: I’m vindicated over PDP presidential ticket zoning but too late – Wike

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, as “Dirty December in November”.

Olayinka mocked the event in a post shared on his X handle on Saturday.

“They went to Ibadan to start Dirty December in November. When people decide to start their own Dirty December in November, one can’t help but ignore whatever comes out of their mouths,” he wrote.

His reaction followed the decision reached by delegates at the convention to expel his principal, Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Ekiti State; Ayodele Fayose, former Ekiti State governor; PDP National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, and the party’s Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade.

Others listed for expulsion include the PDP National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature; former Vice Chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih; South-South Zonal Secretary, George Turner; North Central Vice Chairman and factional Acting National Chairman of the party, Abdulrahman Mohammed; Imo State Chairman, Austin Nwachukwu; former presidential aspirant and factional Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa; and Abia PDP Chairman, Abraham Ammah.

Olayinka further described the convention as a “social party,” alleging that the “intoxicated” delegates were merely making baseless proclamations.

“They gathered in Ibadan to do a social party, enjoyed themselves, and got intoxicated; they are free to say anything,” he added.

Over 3,000 delegates are currently attending the party’s National Convention in Ibadan, scheduled to end today, November 16, despite court orders stopping the exercise.
