Former All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has faulted the decision of ex-vice president, Atiku Abubakar’s son, Abba, to join the ruling party.
Garba said Abba’s decision is not a good deal for APC members who are parents.
He wondered why a son would dump his father, who has joined the African Democratic Party (ADC) to promote his presidential ambition in 2027, when he needed him the most.
“I am a member of APC, but I don’t think joining our party by Abba, the son of former Vice President, H.E Atiku Abubakar is a good deal, especially for APC members who are parents,” he wrote on X.
“I pray for those celebrating to never see a day that their children jettison them at the time when they are needed most.
“Any child who dumps his father when he is needed the most will not hesitate to dump you, no matter who else you are.”
On Thursday, Abba had at the National Assembly dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with the vow to ensure that President Bola Tinubu is reelected in 2027.
His father, Atiku, who was the presidential candidate of the PDP in 2023, had a few months ago joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after a series of coalition talks.
