President Bola Tinubu says the country is winning the war against bandits and promised that his administration will tackle the farmers-herders clashes ravaging the northern region.
Speaking during a visit to Jos, Plateau State capital, where he also paid tribute to Nana Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Tinubu assured the Christian communities of his administration’s dedication to ensuring equitable treatment across all faiths.
The president reassured Christians in the region of their safety, commitment to fairness and national unity.
In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s media aide, Tinubu urged religious leaders to trust his administration, emphasising their shared responsibility to manage religious matters for the nation’s benefit.
The president reiterated his government’s resolve to tackle insecurity, particularly terrorism, banditry, and farmer-herder conflicts.
“I have a mission to unite this country, ensure its prosperity, and we are making progress,” Tinubu said.
“We are defeating bandits, and we will defeat them. We will deal with them and combat the farmers-herders clashes.”
Tinubu said efforts are underway to revitalise the economy for the benefit of all Nigerians.
