The end of Emergency Rule in River is almost in sight as the State government has rolled out activities to mark the end of the six-month rule in the state.
JESNews reports that President Bola Tinubu on March 18 imposed a state of emergency in the state after a long drawn political crisis.
Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy and all members of the state House of Assembly were all suspended by the president.
As the six months end on September 18, there are indications that Governor Fubara and the legislators are on their way to reinstatement.
And as part of the process, the state government has planned to hold a public lecture on Tuesday, with the theme, ‘Democracy and Good Governance’ at the government house in Port Harcourt.
A notice by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibibia Lucky Worika, stated that Administrator of Rivers State, lVice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe lbas is to serve as Special Guest of the occasion.
