Nigerian juju music maestro, Oluwashina Akanbi Peters, known by his stage name Sir Shina Peters, has revealed that 65 percent of his fans are Igbo and not Yoruba.
The musician revealed this in an interview set to premiere on The Honest Bunch on Monday.
He disclosed how he had a good start early in life, saying he builtg his first house at 16 and had his first child two years earlier.
” I started my career at the age of 10. I had my first child at 14. I bought my first car at 13. I built my first house at 16… 65% of my fans are Igbo, not Yoruba,” he stated.
The 67-year-old, however, bemaoned how bad things have gone in the country since independence.
The musician further said he does not produce new music if he lacks inspiration.
“Give us another music, give us another album, I don’t just go to the studio, the atmosphere isn’t conducive for me. I don’t know what to sing. Since 1960 when Nigeria got her independence, people have been hungry, they lack money, the water pipes is not carrying water, we do not love ourselves, our education is in trouble, our hospitals are in coma,” Sir Shina Peters stated.
