The Rivers State House of Assembly led by Speaker, Martins Amaewhule is expected to hold its first sitting on Thursday.
This followed the suspension of emergency rule earlier imposed by President Bola Tinubu on March 18, 2025.
Tinubu had in a statement on Wednesday, lifted the suspension, asking the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the lawmakers to resume duties.
It was gathered that the state lawmakers will resume sitting at Conference Hall located within the legislative quarters in Port Harcourt.
The conference hall has been the lawmakers’ temporary meeting area since their official chamber at the House of Assembly complex located along Moscow Road was bombed by arsonists.
