President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Brasília, the capital city of Braz, for a two-day state visit.
Special adviser on information and strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the Nigerian leader, who flew in from Los Angeles, United States, was received by senior Brazilian government officials at the Brasília Air Base.
“The officials included Ambassador Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte, Secretary for Africa and the Middle East and Ambassador Carlos José Areias Moreno Garcete, Ambassador of Brazil to Nigeria,” Onanuga shared in a post on X.
Nigeria’s minister of state for foreign affairs, Bianca Ojukwu attended the reception.
“Other ministers, heads of key government agencies, and private sector members, who will participate in a string of bilateral talks and MOU signings, later welcomed President Tinubu to his hotel,” said Onanuga.
“The official welcoming ceremony, with full military honours, will take place on Monday at the Planalto Palace.”
In Brazil, Tinubu’s state visit will dwell on “activating multi-billion-dollar agricultural investments, advancing joint initiatives like the $1.1 billion Green Imperative mechanization project and securing new flows of FDI into Nigeria’s agriculture and energy sectors,” special assistant to the president on social media, Olusegun Dada said in an X post.
“It is also about deepening political trust, expanding cultural exchange, and harnessing shared opportunities in renewable energy, climate resilience, and digital transformation,” Dada’s statement added.
