National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has asked Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, as Ramadan and Lent commence.
In a statement on Wednesday signed by Abimbola Tooki, his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Yilwatda said the seasons present an opportunity for citizens to intercede for the country and its leadership.
“At this critical moment in our national journey, I call on all Nigerians to use this sacred period to pray fervently for our country and for the current administration as it undertakes far-reaching reforms aimed at stabilising and repositioning our economy and society,” the statement reads.
He expressed optimism that with sincere prayers, unity of purpose, patience and collective sacrifice, the reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration would yield lasting solutions to Nigeria’s economic and social challenges.
The APC chairman described the simultaneous commencement of Ramadan and Lent as symbolic, noting that both periods of fasting and reflection emphasise discipline, compassion, humility and service to humanity.
According to him, the coincidence serves as a reminder that Nigerians, regardless of religious differences, share a common destiny and must prioritise peaceful coexistence and national progress.
Yilwatda congratulated Muslim and Christian faithful on the commencement of the sacred observances, wishing Muslims a blessed Ramadan and Christians a fulfilling Lenten season marked by faith, love and selfless service.
