Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly intercepted two pickup vans conveying items suspected to be logistics supplies for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the interception followed credible human intelligence on the movement of the items from Dapchi through the Magumeri general area.
Makama said the sector 2 troops, working with the civilian joint task force (CJTF), stopped the vehicles during the operation and arrested the drivers for further interrogation.
The publication said items recovered from the vehicles include 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 key starters, three alternators, two bags of flour, and one mattress.

Other items are five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, nylon bags containing garri, adult and children’s clothing, one power bank, six mobile phones and N92,600 in cash.
It added that the vehicles and recovered items are currently in military custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the suspects’ level of involvement and possible links to ISWAP logistics networks.
Makama said the troops reaffirmed their commitment to disrupting supply routes to terrorist groups and sustaining pressure on criminal elements within their area of responsibility.
