Honourable Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, the newly elected Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area, has promised improved and affordable healthcare delivery and security to the people.
As part of his transformative agenda, the executive chairman, alongside Council Manager, Honourable Idris Jimoh Liasu, councillor representing Isiu Ward, and other officers of the council, took a comprehensive tour of all the primary health centres within the council, to ascertain the conditions of facilities, with the aim of providing necessary interventions.
In a statement by the media unit of Ikorodu North LCDA, the chairman hailed the dedication of healthcare workers but bemoaned the conditions of the facilities.
Honourable Ameen Apanisile assured residents among other things, that his administration will facilitate infrastructure development, personnel training and upgrade of equipment for effectively service delivery.
“I am pleased to announce that I recently embarked on a comprehensive tour of all our primary health centers, Odonla Area Office, and Agbala Area Office within the council area. This visit was crucial in assessing the current state of our area offices and healthcare facilities, identifying areas that require immediate attention,” the statement reads.
“During the tour, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by our healthcare workers and the communities they serve. While I was heartened to see the dedication and commitment of our healthcare professionals, I was dismayed by the state of some of our facilities.
“I want to assure you that healthcare is one of my top priorities, and I am committed to transforming our primary health centers into models of excellence. We will undertake a total overhaul of our healthcare system.
“Our goal is to ensure that every citizen of Ikorodu North has access to quality, affordable, and reliable healthcare services.”
The executive chairman also embarked on familiarisarion tours of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LSNSC), WaterAid and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) operating in the council, pledging his support for the safety of the people.
“I assured them of my administration’s collaboration and assistance, as security is one of the priorities of my administration,” Honourable Apanisile stated.
He added: “Furthermore, I visited the Adamo Road Rehabilitation project facilitated by our Honourable Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson. I assured them that necessary action will be taken after evaluation and assessment.
“I was accompanied on these visits by the Council Manager, Hon. Idris Jimoh Liasu, the Councillor representing Isiu Ward, and other officers of the council.
“I appreciate the warm reception accorded to us by the good people of Ikorodu North LCDA during the visit.”
