Despite finishing the La Liga match against Celta, with an injury, Kylian Mbappé will not allow that setback to prevent him.from playing against Manchester City in the Champions League.
The striker suffered a fracture in the ring finger of his left hand during the second half of the game.
Medical staff applied protection to the finger, allowing him to continue on the pitch.
This will also be the plan for the upcoming fixtures, starting with Wednesday’s clash against Manchester City.
Mbappé is expected to play with the broken finger, a situation that is not unprecedented at Real Madrid. Karim Benzema also played for an extended period with a fractured finger.
Benzema had the option to undergo surgery, but doing so would have sidelined him for several months, so he chose instead to play with a protective bandage — a decision that worked out well for him.
Mbappé will now follow a similar path, using a protective support on the finger and, for the moment, has no intention of undergoing surgery.
