The man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk has been identified as 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson.
Kirk, 31, was killed Wednesday during a speaking event hosted by the Utah Valley University chapter of Turning Point USA in Orem, Utah.
According to authorities, Robinson allegedly fired a single shot that struck Kirk in the neck, ending his life in front of the audience.
Law enforcement launched a massive manhunt that gripped the state for two days.
The search came to an end Thursday night when Robinson was arrested in St. George, near Zion National Park—roughly 250 miles from the scene of the assassination.
Officials confirmed that Robinson’s capture followed a tip from someone close to him.
President Donald Trump revealed on Fox News that “someone very close” to Robinson turned him in, while CNN reported that Robinson had confessed to his father before his arrest.
