Founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Atedo Peterside, has described the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), under former chairman, Mahmoud Yakubu, as a national disgrace.
Peterside said this on Monday, while responding to questions during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.
When asked about his expectations of the new INEC boss, Professor Joash Amupitan, and the forthcoming off-cycle elections in Anambra and Ekiti States, he said:
“I would never say never. But the INEC that was left by Prof Mahmoud Yakubu was a national disgrace.
“If you have time, you just have to go on the IReV. I can take you there myself and show you result sheet which they manipulated.
“Sometimes they changed figures and forgot to change the words. This didn’t add up at all.”
