Lawmaker representing Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro of Kogi State at the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, has vowed to “show” opposition figures in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that he is the landlord.
Abejide who spoke on Friday, promised to resist the opposition figures in the ADC.
The lawmaker, who is the only ADC member in the house of representatives, stressed that though he is not founder of the party, but he would demonstrate that he was responsible for ADC’s current height politically.
Abejide said the coalition made up of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, Dino Melaye, Babachir Lawal will not be allowed to hijack the ADC without resistance.
He noted that the just-concluded by-elections was an eye opener that the end was near for the coalition as they would be expunged from the ADC.
“You cannot come to somebody’s house, hijack his house, and you think that the person, no matter how stupid he is, will be looking at you,” he spoke during an interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief.
“I will let them know that I am the landlord. I didn’t establish the party, but I am the one who made the party remain where it is today.”
Recently, Abejide had vowed to muscle the ADC out of the hands of Atiku and the coalition.
He noted that the takeover of ADC’s leadership by the Mark-led coalition was not in line with the party’s constitution.
The coalition recently took over the ADC in preparation for the 2027 presidential election.
