The Super Eagles will today face hosts Morocco, their toughest opponent at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-finals. The Eagles have won all the five matches they have played at the competition so far, including two North African teams.

However, the Atlas Lions promises to be a tough clash for Nigeria. The three-time AFCON winners will confront Morocco who are the best team in Africa, according to FIFA, and also one of the favourites to win the tournament being hosted on home soil.
However, Nigeria who are going into the encounter with a lot of confidence, will seek to achieve a number of milestones in the clash. Morocco have not lost a game in their last 23 matches, which included 19 victories in a row before Mali held them to a 1-1 draw on December 26, 2025.

Walid Regragui side have not lost a home game in official competitions in 16 years and have played 38 home games since then. The hosts have the momentum going for them. They reached the semi-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and qualified for the 2026 finals with relative ease.
