Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has advised former president, Goodluck Jonathan, to retain his legacy by not giving in to pressure to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Oshiomhole stated this on Channel Television’s Sunday Politics on Sunday.
According to Oshiomhole, those pushing the ex-president to throw his hat into the ring in the next election are his enemies.
However, the former Edo State governor stressed that Jonathan will be defeated if he decides to join the race.
“How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had PDP at its peak, I think it is only his enemies that will push him into the ring,” he stated.
“That may not be helpful to him. I think he has managed to demonstrate that out of power you can be relevant and really at peace.
“If I will be able to advise him, I will say ‘Sir, maintain this status’. If I were him I will spend the rest of my life trying to find relevance, which he has already found.”
