Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has praised his players’ unity, resilience, and determination following Nigeria’s bronze medal finish at the AFCON 2025.
Nigeria claimed third place after edging Egypt 4–2 on penalties on Saturday, ending the tournament on a positive note after narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

The Super Eagles showed composure under pressure during the shootout to secure the victory.
Speaking after the match, Chelle emphasised his desire to maintain continuity within the squad, stressing the importance of building on the chemistry developed during the competition.
He hinted at keeping the current group together if he continues in his role as head coach.
“My mission is to keep this group [of players], if I am still the coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, of course,” Chelle said.

The coach also commended his players for their calmness and discipline, describing the bronze medal as a well-earned reward for their commitment and hard work throughout the tournament.
The victory over Egypt ensured Nigeria ended the AFCON campaign on a high and reinforced confidence ahead of future international assignments.
