A female.passenger, Comfort lEmmanson, who assaulted airline officials on an Ibom Air flight inbound Lagos from Uyo, has been remanded in prison after being charged to court.
Disclosing this on Monday, Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood said Emmanson was remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.
He made this known in a post on X, shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, notified all passengers and airport officials that enforcement action will become a frequent occurrence at airports in Nigeria, given the rising wave of unruly conduct by passengers.
Monday’s incident at the airport comes on the heels of a near similar occurrence between ace fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde, fondly called KWAM 1 and ValueJet airline.
KWAM 1 tried to stop the aircraft from taking off after being deboarded for flouting flying rules. He was subsequently placed on a six months no.fly ban by the Nigerian aviation authority.
