Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara finnaly appeared in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Friday, to the cheers of hundreds of his supporters.
Fubara’s supporters had awaited his arrival on Thursday to no avail, after Presidcent Bola Tinubu lifted the six months emergency rule in the state on Wednesday.
However, the governor arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport about 11:50 a.m. on Friday.
The governor was greeted by a crowd of supporters who had earlier converged at the VIP wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, awaiting his arrival.
The state house of assembly, which was suspended alongside the governor and his deputy, had resumed plenary on Thursday at the House of Assembly.
