Acclaimed Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has landed another historic landmark as Guinness World Records, GWR, has officially recognised her for cooking the largest serving of jollof rice.
In a post shared on its official X account, Guinness World Records said, “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.” They wrote.
The feat came after a grand culinary spectacle held on September 12, 2025, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, tagged the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival’ with Hilda Baci, attracted thousands of attendees and generated massive social media buzz.
Hilda Baci, who first rose to international prominence in 2023 when she set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now reinforced her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
The event attracted celebrities comprising Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, and Pastor Bolaji Idowu, as well as Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, who came to support the chef’s latest record-breaking attempt.
