Armed bandits disguising as women wearing hijabs attacked Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward of Rabah Local Government Area in Sokoto State on Saturday night, leaving several residents dead and others abducted.
The was according to a post on X by security analyst, Bakatsine, on Sunday.
Bakatsine said the armed men attacked the village at night and carried out a massive assault, moving freely around in hijabs.
During the attack, several residents were killed, while many others were abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
He noted that the situation has raised concerns among residents, as attacks continue to occur in different communities across the state.
“Last night, armed bandits reportedly disguised in women’s hijabs attacked Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward, Rabah LGA, Sokoto State. Several residents were killed and many others abducted during the attack.
“With attacks continuing across communities in Sokoto State, the question remains; what concrete measures are being taken to halt the growing wave of insecurity in the state?,” he wrote.
