The rivalry of Nigeria with Ghana will be renewed again when Kwara United tackle Asante Kotoko in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, while Abia Warriors will confront serial campaigners Djoliba from Mali.
The winners between Nigerian cup holders Kwara United and Kotoko will slug it out with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the second round.
The winners between Abia Warriors and Djoliba face either USFA of Burkina Faso or AS Gbohloe-su of Togo.
Winners of the second round will progress to the group stage of the yearly club competition.
The preliminary rounds will be played in the middle of next month with the next rounds in October.
