The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), on Monday, confirmed a multiple-vehicle crash, with one of the catching fire.
According to LASTMA, the incident occurred on Admiralty Way, inward Admiralty Roundabout, near Road 14.
A video shared by LASTMA on X showed the vehicle engulfed in flames with thick smoke billowing into the air, highlighting the severity of the crash.
Traffic was severely affected as motorists were diverted to Road 14 to connect to Durosimi Etti Road.
In a follow-up video posted on the agency’s platform, fire fighters were seen quenching the flames, although the affected vehicle was completely burnt.
LASTMA officers remained on the scene, managing traffic and ensuring motorists could navigate safely via a counterflow system to reconnect at Admiralty Roundabout.
The agency noted that men of the Nigeria Police and additional fire service personnel were on their way to provide further support, while LASTMA continued to coordinate efforts to restore normal traffic flow in the area.
