Valencia have approached Brentford for midfielder Frank Onyeka.
They have registered their interest, but he has been at AFCON representing Nigeria so it has not yet progressed.
Valencia are also likely to face competition from other clubs including from the Championship.
Birmingham City and Coventry are also thought to be keen on the 28-year-old.
Onyeka impressed at AFCON playing four of the six games, including the semi-final exit to Morocco.
He has only made six Premier League appearances for Brentford and spent last season out on loan.
