The Lagos State Government has listed at least 176 estates as illegal across the state.
The affected estates are located in the Eti-Osa, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, and Epe Local Government Areas.
In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Physical Planning, Oluwole Sotire, the concerned developments have been handed a 21-day ultimatum to process and secure the appropriate layout approvals.
Sotire said the estates are deemed illegal due to failure to obtain layout approvals from the ministry of physical planning and urban development.
He maintained that the estates compromised the sustainable development agenda of the Lagos State Government.
The permanent secretary stated that the owners of the estates have been given a window to submit the necessary documents to his office for processing.
