Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa, has shared that women cheat more in marriage but are way smarter than men by keeping it from anyone.
Speaking on a recent episode of her Toke Moments podcast, the Nigerian actress said it is not true that only men cheat.
According to her, cheating comes more easily to women because they do not need to spend money, effort, or time the way men often do.
She explained that this realisation has shaped how she views infidelity in relationships, adding that cheating is no longer a dealbreaker for her, though it comes with conditions.
“When I say cheating is not a dealbreaker, people think I’m encouraging it. That’s not the case,” she said.
“As I grow older, I realise it’s not only men who can cheat. Why do we make it seem like men are special?”
Toke noted that while men often have to invest resources to cheat, women are usually on the receiving end, which makes it easier.
“Do you know how easy it is for a woman to cheat? It’s even easier for us. Men will spend money, effort, and time, but women are just receiving,” she said.
She added that a woman choosing not to cheat is often not because she lacks opportunity, but because of personal discipline.
“A woman not cheating is not because she cannot cheat. It’s probably because she has strength,” she stated, referencing situations like having a “work boyfriend.”
Toke concluded by insisting that women cheat just as much, if not more, than men, but are far more discreet about it.
