Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has accused Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, of weakening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure across the South-West and driving away those who helped him become governor.
Speaking in an interview on TVC, Fayose further accused Makinde of corruption, alleging that he “took over all the choice lands in the state”.
According to him, “almost everybody who worked for his ascension has been driven away.”
He further accused Makinde of dismantling the party’s structure in the region, stating, “Makinde has destroyed all PDP structures in the South-West.”
Fayose also questioned the credibility of the party’s process in Osun State, alleging that “a candidate who did not even obtain a PDP form eventually became the candidate.”
On his personal experience, Fayose claimed he was targeted during a political event in Osun State, alleging that “Makinde organised an attack on me in Osun,” and described the Oyo governor as “a small boy” in political terms.
Speaking on his political standing, Fayose described himself as an “elder statesman,” insisting that he governed Ekiti State without external control. “I fought my governorship without a godfather,” he said.
He openly declared his allegiance to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, saying, “I’m a Wike person. Anywhere Wike is, that is where I am.”
Fayose also reiterated his party loyalty, stressing, “I will never join the APC.”
