President Bola Tinubu has directed service chiefs and heads of security agencies to deliver tangible results in the fight against insecurity in the country.
Tinubu said this at a closed-door meeting on Tuesday at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja after he launched the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem.
Those present at the meeting were: Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS); Wahidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff; Sunday Aneke, Chief of Air Staff; Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police (IGP); Adeola Ajayi, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS); and Mohammed Mohammed, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
It was gathered that the meeting lasted over one hour.
Speaking after the meeting, Oluyede described the session as “very engaging”, adding that the president gave fresh directives aimed at achieving “better and faster results” in tackling banditry, terrorism, and other security challenges.
The CDS assured Nigerians that the security agencies are coordinating better to ensure a peaceful yuletide celebration.
