The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has declared former Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Silva, wanted.
The EFCC said Silva is wanted in connection with an alleged case of Conspiracy and Dishonest Conversion of the sum of $14,859,257, meant for the construction of a refinery.

“The public is hereby notified that Timipre Silva, a former minister of state, petroleum resources, and former governor f Bayelsa State, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of Conspiracy and Dishonest Conversation of $14,859,257 par of funds injected by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) into Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited, for the construction of a refinery. Silva, 61, is from Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State,” the anti-graft agency wrote in a notice posted on its official Facebook account.
There was a rumour that Sylva, a former governor of Bayelsa, was involved in the recent alleged coup that failed in the country.
