Premier League: ‘It’s still Arsenal’s title to lose’ – Keane

Roy Keane has reaffirmed his belief that Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season, even after Manchester City’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.

The result, which marked Pep Guardiola’s 1,000th game as a manager, saw City climb to second in the table, just four points behind the Gunners.

Despite City’s dominant display, which included goals from Erling Haaland, Nico González, and Jérémy Doku, Keane remains loyal to his preseason prediction. Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Manchester United captain acknowledged City’s resurgence but insisted Arsenal are still his pick.

‘City and Pep have that spark back,’ Keane said. ‘Haaland is a goal machine, Foden’s return has made a difference, and other players are stepping up. They’re back in the mix, but I’ll stick with Arsenal.’

Liverpool, meanwhile, slumped to eighth after their fifth league defeat of the season. Keane didn’t hold back in his assessment of their form, calling it a ‘crisis’ for the reigning champions.

‘It’s okay to lose to City, but five losses in ten games? That’s a crisis for a club like Liverpool,’ he said.

Keane criticized the team’s lack of intensity and poor decision-making, adding that their substitutes looked “really soft” and that the second-half improvement was meaningless with the game already lost.

Arsenal, who dropped points in a 2-2 draw at Sunderland, remain top of the table, but City’s performance has reignited the title race heading into the international break.
