The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Nafiu Bala has said it is working hard to return the party to its lost glory.
Bala, in a statement he signed in Abuja on Saturday, said some politicians have infiltrated the ADC, insisting that such individuals have no place in the party.
He lamented that these individuals are parading themselves as leaders of the party even though they have not taken the necessary steps required to join a political organisation.
He stated that such behaviour by these politicians has brought along negative traits that disrupted the once peaceful structure of the party, which Nigerians are expecting to lead the opposition in 2027.
“[We are] working assiduously, leaving no stone unturned, in restoring the glory of the party hitherto infiltrated by political vagabonds who sneaked into the party through the back door,” he stated.
Bala maintained that these individuals are in the ADC to cause confusion among members and impose a leadership not recognised by core members of the party.
“We wish to make it clear that these elements who parade themselves as party members without registration should forthwith desist from tampering with the hitherto peaceful ADC structure,” he added.
He advised anyone who wishes to become a member of the ADC to follow the party’s rules and regulations by beginning with proper registration at the ward level.
