President Bola Tinubu on Thursday sworn in Professor Joash Amupitan as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The event took place at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja.
Amupitan passed the screening at the Senate last week, following the approval of his nomination by the Council of State after Tinubu submitted his name.
During his screening, Amupitan said his target is to have an electoral system where the loser will congratulate the winner. after elections.
Amupitan’s emergence followed the expiration of the tenure of former INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.
