Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Vladimir Putin’s idea of holding a bilateral meeting in Moscow, instead suggesting that the Russian leader should come to Kyiv.
“He (Putin) can come to Kyiv. I cannot go to Moscow when my country is under daily missile strikes. I cannot go to the capital of this terrorist. Putin understands that,” Zelenskyy told ABC News.
He stressed that Putin’s proposal was in fact aimed at delaying a possible meeting.
Zelenskyy said he is ready to meet “in any format” but accused Putin of “playing games with the United States.”
“If someone doesn’t want to meet during the war, of course they can propose something that is unacceptable for me or for others,” he added.
