Two children, aged eight and 10, have been killed and 17 other people are injured following a school shooting in Minneapolis, police say.
The attack happened during morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic School – here’s what we know so far.
The suspect was armed with a rifle, shotgun and pistol and shot through the church windows, police say, and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The attacker has been identified as Robin Westman, 23, from suburban Minneapolis, law enforcement sources tell CBS.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara calls it a “deliberate act of violence against children and worshippers”.
Of those injured, 14 are children, and two are in a critical condition, police say.
“Don’t say this is about thoughts and prayers – these kids were literally praying,” Mayor Jacob Frey says during an emotional news conference.
