Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, has taunted members of the opposition in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following last weekend’s by-elections across the country.
In a post on X on Monday, Onanuga shared a picture of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, 2023 election presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, with the caption: “How is the market now?”
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), cleared the majority of the seats, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), making some gains in Oyo and Kano States.
The remark by Onanuga is perceived as a taunt. It comes amid renewed questions about the ability of opposition parties in the current political climate and ahead of the 2027 general elections.
