A member of the Obidient Movement and lawyer, Aisha Yesufu, has warned Peter Obi that he would work against him if he agrees to become a vice presidential candidate in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Obi left crisis-stricken Labour Party, where he was the presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to join the ADC last week and immediate expressed that he was seeking the presidential ticket.
In a video on social media, Aisha, who has also joined the ADC over Obi’s defection, vowed that she would work against any presidential ticket that has Obi as vice.
According to her, the former Anambra State governor is the best among the aspirants and should be given the presidential ticket.
“I’m giving you people my word. If Peter Obi emerges as a running mate to anyone, I will work against that ticket,” she stated.
“In my little capacity, I will work against them even if I don’t support any other candidates. Why are we always asking the best to be the second?”
Obi joined the ADC, a party adopted by a coalition of opposition leaders plotting President Bola Tinubu’s removal, is one of the aspirants eyeing the party’s ticket.
There are, however, indications that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar may emerge the flagbearer of the party and possibly pick Obi as deputy.
